The hourglass is ticking down on the 34th Maryland Renaissance Festival. This weekend is your last chance for this year to pretend you’re living in a 15^th Century English Village. The village this year is Revel Grove, and the year is 1543. The village is preparing for a visit from King Henry VIII.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival will close for the year after shows this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, October 23^rd and 24^th. Rain or shine, the festival is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at their location on Crownsville Road, Crownsville.

Whether you’re a Lord or Lady of the Realm, a Wench or a Fair Maiden, you’re sure to enjoy performances by King Henry VIII and his Royal Court. Outlaws and Rogues will be kept at bay by the Soldiers of the Royal Army.

Being as this is a fantasy realm, you should be aware that tickets are required. $18 for adults with a $3 discount for “seasoned” subjects over 62. Children between 7 – 15 can get in for $8. Leave the pets and weapons home, as neither are allowed in the village.

Don’t forget to bring your camera. You won’t be disappointed at the opportunities for great pictures that the festival provides.

I guess Anne Arundel County MD is getting tired of complaints about dogs from property owners, because I'm seeing new signs popping up in Crofton MD.

Crofton MD is a great place to live and if you've spent any time here at all you know that Crofton residents do a lot of walking on the parkway. Walkers, joggers, bike riders, baby strollers, and probably more than anything else...dog walkers.

I live on Crofton Parkway and most of the dog walkers are diligent about carrying plastic bags to dispose of... well, I don't need to be graphic here. Most dog walkers are responsible, unfortunately though, not all. 

It's not the dog's fault when they have to go. That's just what dogs do. When I walk my two dogs I end up carrying four bags. Don't ask, they just really like the parkway I guess. 

Now, however, dog walkers are being warned that they could incur a fine if they don't pick up after Fido.  a pretty expensive squat if you ask me.
