The Greening of Crofton

Crofton MD Real Estate - Richard IarossiIt’s that time of year here in Crofton, MD. Itchy eyes, runny nose and coughing. No, not the swine flu, just common tree pollen. Every year at this time we end up with the same thing. Before becoming the stately oaks of summer, which we love, they have to shed the pollen.

Not only people suffer for the couple of weeks, but everything outside as well. I’m sure the car wash’s are doing a booming business trying to de-pollinate. Driveways and sidewalks will be swept and re-swept for weeks to come.

Allergy sufferers will be the first to notice the effects, particularly on dry days. The good news is that they’re predicting rain for the next couple of days so that should keep the pollen down somewhat.

If you don’t see your Crofton neighbors for a while its’ because they’re indoors, trying to avoid nature’s outdoor pollution.

Rich,

I love the writing on the window. We get a heavy deposit from the pines - the rest is mostly stuff you can breathe but not see. :)

Hi Rich:

We're not that bad with pollen yet here in NJ, but I'm sure it's right around the corner for us.

It just gets on everything, disgusting...

Enjoy your weekend...

Hi Richard

I was in New Jersey last week and experienced the pollen problems first hand.

Good luck and success.

That's some serious pollen!  I had no idea it was so thick in some places.  No wonder people get allergies.

My poor son has to be sequestered in the house because his eyes are so allergic to the pollen that they swell shut.  Its really hard to keep a busy 4 year old inside the house when its nice outside.

Hi rich, We have 2 weeks every year of a blanket of yellow - from the pine pollen - not only is it bad for the eyes, etc., but what a mess!
