Annapolis MD, once the Capitol of the United States, held a symbolic Tea Party protest today on the City Dock under spectacular weather. Of course, due to environmental concerns, no tea was actually thrown into the water.
A couple of hundred respectful protesters listened to speeches, carried signs and banners, and rallied against the fiscal policies of Local, State and Federal governments. Some of the most vociferous speeches were reserved for Local governmental policies, but no level of government escaped scrutiny.
This was a multi-party protest, not against the Obama administration, but against the general lack of fiscal restraint by all levels of government. A sympathy shared by many in the crowd.
It's the right of the people to be heard, and they were heard in Annapolis MD today. Throughout the weekend there will be 611 "Tea Party's" held in States all over the country. If you're interested in attending one in your State, click here for a State by State list.

I think these photos and the spirit shown in them are great. Thanks for the post. It is refreshing to see protests that make sense
Interesting post. Thanks for the information.
I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!
Best regards.

Rich - a very thoughtful post and wonderful pictures. We need more people involved, not just mouthing platitudes.
Good to see. Now just need the other 299,999,800 Americans, 30,000,000 Canadians, 500,000,000 Europeans, and the rest of the 6 Billion people on hurt to not just protest, but to stop playing their game.
Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism. Nothing truer. Notice how the govenrnment and main stream media paints people like that as unpatriotic and even terrorists.
Rich, thanks for sharing. I agree totally. We all need to join in and say "No" and all of us to practice fiscal restraint. Spending and increasing debt is not the answer.
Hi Richard
Washington has stopped listening to the people who voted them into office. It time to stand up and be heard.
Good luck and success.

Rich...
A great photo journal of the event. Good job, I feel like I was there!
Charlie, There was a lot of enthusiasm at the event.
Mike, Thanks for stopping by.
Mike, If people don't eventually stand up to what's going on, than we'll all pay dearly.
Ryan, We have to start somewhere.
June, They can't print the money fast enough. Some day they'll have to start paying it back though.
Lou, You couldn't be more right.
Richard, Thanks, even you have to venture away from Newnan every once in a while.
Hi Rich:
It's good to see that people are voicing their opinions...
Love the photos! Read my lipstick...pretty clever...
I was very disappointed I couldn't attend one of these tea parties that we had here in Portland yesterday. Our government is getting out of hand and we need to get them back in to understanding they represent us, not the other way around.

I missed this post, Richard. Congratulations on being featured in Dissent.
Richard, Very nice post. The photos were awesome. What no nuts? Peaceful protests? The right of the people to peaceful assembly and free speech.
Richard, its nice to hear about people being civil at a political gathering for a change. I for one would like my voice to be heard at a town hall meeting, but some those same civil tea partiers are the ones that would shout me down. BTW beware of the flag with the snake, its a thinly veiled call to arms.
