What a beautiful picture. I believe that you posted a parrot picture that I commented on a few weeks ago. I love the angle on this one--how we do not see the entire face.

Melissa, Good memory. Different parrots, same location. This was taken at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. The Rain Forest exhibit.

Richard,

What a colorful bird and what a great background!  Just judging by the photo, it looks like they did a great job of mimicking the Rain Forest at the National Aquarium in Baltimore!  Thank you for Sunday photo.

Richard another beautiful picture.  Parrots can be very loud creaturs so at least this one is silent, for a time when sleeping.

This is a great photo.  I love the colors that nature has provided... Incredible.

He does look like he's in a deep sleep!  LOL  Apparently he was a true party animal and got worn out!  Great shot!

Richard, and he doesn't even fall over. Amazing!  Have a great day.

He (she?) is a beauty......is that a waterfall in the background?

Nice picture.  The leaves and waterfall certainly make the picture.  The detail on the parrot is amazing.  Thanks for sharing.

that is a fantastic photo, a water fall in the background.. beautiful.

Posted by Benny mckee (Greenway Financial) almost 3 years ago

I guess the waterfall is better than white noise for this bird.

Richard - He's in the zen of things while absorbing the negative ions:-)  Nice picture!

Such a cool picture. I guess parrots that sleep walk are bred out by natural selection. Thanks for sharing this

I love falling asleep to the sound of rushing water. But I'll leave standing on the end of a stick to someone more agile....

This is great, Rich! he looks so cute sitting there sleeping! I love the waterfall in the background, and the leaves to the left make it a perfect composition - just the right splash of color!

Gerry, I love everything about the National Aquarium...except the crowds.

Gail, You're right. Their squawk can be pretty loud.

Joan, They blend in well with the foliage.

Mike, I can sleep when I'm walking, they should be able to sleep when they're flying.

Rita, I'm not sure. Sometimes they can get pretty nasty.

Robert, The aquarium attendents wouldn't let me nap.

Carol, I wonder if he knows Jimmy Buffett?

Kevin, Straight as a board.

Terry, Thanks. I love nature shots.

Ann, You guessed it. Sleeping to waterfall noise.

Jim, Thanks, I appreciate you stopping by.

Mike, I never even thought of that. Ha!

Benny, I'm guessing that's not the first time he's slept there.

Maria, It almost put me to sleep to.

Myrl, That would have been a better title for the post.

Charlie, I think they're taken pretty good care of at the National Aquarium though.

Cheryl, I'm with you there.

Debi, Maybe some of the Master's tricks are rubbing off...finally.

Konnie, National Aquarium in Baltimore. Great place to visit.

No, Rich. It's a talent - you either have an eye for it, or you don't. You have an eye for it :)

That is funny - reminds me of mammals that sleep standing up. But then again I guess they can't exactly crawl into bed!

I never would have guessed that was at an aquarium, I thought it was a real waterfall in the background

I could easily add a tagline to that and enter it in the ActiveRain Nature & Marketing contest.
