Crofton MD Real Estate - Week In Review 8/24/09

Crofton MD Real Estate - Richard IarossiSeems like the Summer doldrums hit the Crofton MD real estate market this past week. Could be lots of folks getting their last vacation days in before the kids go back to school. Whatever the reason, Crofton MD was pretty quiet this week.

No houses went to settlement, which is pretty unusual. Crofton MD usually averages one or more homes sold per day. This past week, nada.

One nice 3/2/1 townhouse in Crofton Meadows went under contract. This would have been a listing that was perfect for a first time homebuyer. It was in the first time homebuyer sweetspot between $250,000 - $300,000. While we're talking about 1st Time Homebuyers here for a moment...
don't forget that the $8,000 1st Time Homebuyers Tax Credit is scheduled to terminate November 30, 2009. In order to take advantage of this tax credit, if you qualify, you have to settle on a home before December 1, 2009.

Two new Crofton MD rentals came on the market this week. Both were single family homes and both were over $2,000/month rent.

Seven new listings went Active in Crofton MD between 9/16 and 9/22. Six of the seven were below $300,000, again, in the price range of many 1st Time Crofton Home Buyers.

Crofton MD home inventory sits at 133 Active listings today. Prices range from $150,500 - $829,000. That's quite a spread for Crofton. Now is a great time to find a home of your choice in Crofton MD.

Hi Rich:

I'm seeing a little less activity this past week also...

I'm attributing it to getting the kids off to school too.

Good morning Richard, My guess is that back to school time, slows down the market for a couple of weeks.  Our schools started today and we've been a bit slow for a week or so.  Expecting some rebound, but we'll be fairly slow for a while if past experience holds.

Hi Riichard

We seen a little less activy the last couple of weeks, I feel it's due to the normal end of the summer and back to school focus. I do believe that the activy will really pick up to get the $8,000 first buyers tax credit.

Good luck and success.

Richard, I think that we will have a rash of first time home buyers out there to take advantage of the market as soon as the dust from school starts settling down...

Helping you live your American dream...
