Have you ever done anything stupid? Fess up, of course you did...me too, plenty of times.
Last week I challenged Debi Boucher to a Butterfly picture contest. What the heck was I thinking. In my opinion, Debi is clearly the most talented photographer playing here in the Rain.
Here's my shot but I'm pretty darn sure I'm going to take my lumps when she posts her picture. I'll link to it here as soon as I can. I've been out but here is the link to Debi's butterfly shot.
Rich, yours is a great shot, I love the muted out of focus complimentary background.
Rich, I just checked her blogs...you have a very worthy opponent! Good Luck.
Thanks for sharing your photograph. Nicely done. Have a great day.
Richard No apologies are necessary - you rank right up there with Debi Karen
Hi Rich:
Great butterfly photo!
You and Debi are BOTH very talented!!!
Richard, beautiful shot. Good way to start out my Wednesday, thanks for sharing it.
I love butterflies. This is a beautiful picture Thanks for sharing.
you have one heck of a camera and you know how to use it!
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Great shot! You both are wonderful photographers. Butterflies, what a great subject!
Rich - I am looking forward to this photo knock down contest. Great shot on your butterfly.
Kevin, Thanks. Debi is extremely talented and I can't wait to see her submission.
Roy, Thanks for stopping by.
Karen, I liked the shot too, and thank you.
Toula, Aren't you sweet. Thank you.
Gabe, Hump day. Than again, Realtors don't really have a beginning, middle or end to their week.
Gita, Butterfly shots are special.
Charles, Thanks. I'm always learning.
Dixie/Dick, Butterflies do make wonderful subjects.
Mike, I'm gonna get killed. She always pulls a terrific shot out of the hat.
Richard, this photo is exquisite! This butterfly reminds me of a ballerina. Now I'll have to check Debi's blog!
Richard, this photo is going to be hard to beat. The composition (ROTs) is good and the subject is great. Good shot!
Hi Richard
Great butterfly photo.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Oh wow! He's GREAT! A very different viewpoint from my entry - You only get to see part of mine - here you've captured the whole butterfly, and he's gorgeous! A wonderful composition, and a beautiful bokeh! Great job! My entry is different, not as PRETTY! LOL
Debi
Rich, just had to come over after reading Debi's post. Just beautiful! Had to look up the meaning of boken, got it!
Richard this is a beautiful clear shot of the butterfly and the flower. Very nice.
I was at Debi's post first and wonder which Rich she was talking about. Now I know :) - both are great shots! ~Rita
What a great photo. Love the crisp picture
Richard - That is a great shot! Come to think about it, I don't think I have ever captured a butterfly in a picture. They and me, are not one, when I'm carrying a camera.
Good afternoon Richard,
I think I like your photo better than Debi's but, she sure likes to be up close and personal with her subjects. :-))
Richard, you and Debi have both taken amazing photos of butterflies! Thanks for sharing them.
But this is a beautiful composition, Richard! I am glad you challenged -- so we can see the array of talent!
That sure is a clear shot. I have taken as many as 10 at a setting or more to get one good macro shot of insects.
This is absolutely beautiful! Now I'll see what the competition looks like....
Richard,
I like the photo and I know it is great. Now I will check out Debi's shot.
Ann
That is such a clear and beautiful shot, I feel as though I could blow the yellow dust from his wings! Beautiful, but I haven't checked Debi's yet....LOL, Honestly, the two of you are equally talented, so it might be a tie!
I already know who the winner of this challenge is...it's us the innocent bystanders who get to enjoy the beautiful photos of two very talented photographers! What a gorgeous shot!
