I'm not sure you can actually have a one picture photoblog, but lets give it a try. The original picture was taken this year at St. Michaels, MD. Just one of a gazillion pictures of sailboats. From my perspective it was an ok picture, a keeper but not something to go ga-ga about.
The pictures below the original are faux paintings of the original created in software. Created in Dynamic Auto Painter, a simple to use, one button picture creator.
Could these styles be done in Photoshop? Probably, but not with my PS knowledge. The Dynamic Auto Painter does it pretty simply. Import a picture, choose a style (there are 20), click start, and watch the picture being drawn on the screen. I believe that if you just leave it, the program will continue to draw your selection...forever. You can pause it at any time and when you stop it, the selection is set.
Below you can see the original picture and 9 iterations of the original in different picture painting styles. Pretty neat actually, and requires no technical image editing skills.

Hi Rich:
I love the first photo...of course!
I've actually never used photoshop, I use a product called MGI PhotoSuite.
With a one button click, it gives these types of effects also.
For homes that are 'photogenic' this might make a great closing gift. A small framed image of their new home (or maybe the old one if there's a lot of sentiment there).
Thanks Rich! Amazing what we can do today...
Happy Thanksgiving from Deb in Cape Coral, FL
Wow - It's pretty impressive what technology can do these days.....
Richard, easy program to use with good effects. I especially like the water color effect. Thanks.
This is so awesome, I love it, Thanks for sharing.
Very cool, Richard! You can really create some great effects with that - well done.
Mike
Thanks for sharing, this is really neat, I will have to pic one of my pictures to try this with...
Looks like a good way as you said to make a so so photo more interesting, is the program free? I could not tell with a fast visit over to their site.
Rich, The special effects are fun to play with to see what you can come up with! You definitely had a beautiful photo to start with. I like the Aquarelle effect the best!
My Microsoft Digital Image Pro has a similar ability, Rich. Perhaps I haven't tried with the right subject but I don't get the super results you do. You've inspired me to play some more.
Once again, it's amazing the things you learn about here at AR. Richard thanks for this info...I'll have to give it a try.
One photo once, or one photo 10 times - either a photoblog makes! Great post, Richard. Photoshop also has some 'instant' artistic options. Aquarelle is my favorite. I'm going to have a look at your Dynamic Auto Painter - I love it!

Richard it is amazing what can be done today. Very interesting effects.
Very creative, Richard. Actually, I think Toula is right-it is hard to beat the original picture! I do like the Monet. Thanks for showing us these different options.
Thanks Richard, I'm also not that proficient with Photoshop. I know this is possible in that program, but your tip looks much more doable!
GOOD MORNING RICHARD! I just looked at the website - the free download is great - but actually it's also pretty cheap to buy. I like that once the photos have had a "effect" - they can be printed - even into a canvas! Very cool! Hope your Thanksgiving was a treat! -- Gab
Richard, what fun! I'll have to check out that program. Would love to be able to play like this. :->
Hello Richard, I missed commenting on this so I came back to correct that. Very well done. Now taking this to the next level, find that fantastic photo, recreate it you style and share that story of how that photo came about. Wonderful job Richard.
