Sailboat

"You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails."

OK, so what real estate agent hasn't had to adjust their sails to the changing winds of the market?

Adjusting your sails is better than sitting on the dock and watching everyone else have fun.

Being in Annapolis, I imagine you have had your fair share of sailing. I just bought an older Lightning (#13942) last week. Should have her sea worthy by the weekend.

Adjust the sales and remember what Columbus managed to do a few centuries ago with the uncertain and uncharted waters of the Atlantic. Adjusting the sales beats jumping ship! Thanks for the image and reminding me for some reason of Maryland's soft shell crabs.

If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable.

I imagine the one's not adjusting their sails in this market are the one's not doing anything (boat still tied to the dock) or not willing to try new things.

And if you don't adjust your sails for sure you will end up in the water or without any sales.

I do need to remember this one the next time I go out sailing...

I have had so many sail changes I wonder if it has made me a good sailor. I have a new Rain Camp badge under my name!

Rich...

It usually takes me a lot more words to say the same thing!

I love the analogy Richard.  During bad times, it's a fine balance of how much we need to reef our sails while making headway through the storm.

Hi Rich:

Great analogy...

And if an agent doesn't change their sails, they will be sitting there in the middle of the big ocean going nowhere!

I wish I was on that boat. Or maybe something a little bugger. Thanks for the quote and the great picture

I hope being a power boater doesn't mean I always go against the wind!
Have a great day Rich!

One of the great things about humans is that we can make those adjustments!

Rich, the ones who haven't adjusted their sales sails aren't doing well at all.  I used to sail when I was younger, the past 3 years I have felt like I have been heading into the wind.  I will be glad to let my sail out and have the wind at my back again.

It's a good thing I have a set of oars...I'd surely be run aground without them! One day, I'd like to be able to say, "Smooth sailing ahead" Rich.

Richard, it's a constant changing of the sails.  Very nice analogy.  and love the photo.

Did you cave in at the boat show, Rich?  We also can get flipped and right ourselves!
