The hourglass is ticking down on the 34th Maryland Renaissance Festival. This weekend is your last chance for this year to pretend you’re living in a 15th Century English Village. The village this year is Revel Grove, and the year is 1543. The village is preparing for a visit from King Henry VIII.
The Maryland Renaissance Festival will close for the year after shows this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, October 23rd and 24th. Rain or shine, the festival is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at their location on Crownsville Road, Crownsville.
Whether you’re a Lord or Lady of the Realm, a Wench or a Fair Maiden, you’re sure to enjoy performances by King Henry VIII and his Royal Court. Outlaws and Rogues will be kept at bay by the Soldiers of the Royal Army.
Being as this is a fantasy realm, you should be aware that tickets are required. $18 for adults with a $3 discount for “seasoned” subjects over 62. Children between 7 – 15 can get in for $8. Leave the pets and weapons home, as neither are allowed in the village.
Don’t forget to bring your camera. You won’t be disappointed at the opportunities for great pictures that the festival provides.
