Mum’s the word at the Homestead Gardens Fall Festival being held this weekend. This could be your last chance to pick up some Mum’s at a great price, before Homestead changes over to their Christmas display.
3 for $15 if you have a Garden Club membership is a very good price for Mum’s from one of the area’s premiere gardens.
During festivals like this you can stop at the Homestead Grill for burgers, hot dogs and pulled pork or beef sandwiches. Homemade apple cider and coffee can ward off the chill on an Autumn day.
The Fall Festival starts at 11 AM and runs until 4 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24. Besides the Mum’s and Pumpkins, Homestead Gardens has started their fantastic Christmas display and some items are available for sale. Can’t wait for Spring…you can pick up your Spring Bulbs and get a head start.
Homestead Gardens is located at 743 W. Central Ave. (Rt. 214) in Davidsonville, MD. Plenty of parking for the expected crowds.

Munns are the real sign of fall, we buy them in Florida to get the feeling of fall here in Boca Raton.
Good luck and success.

Rich - My wife bought some medium potted mums and after transplanting and a little miracle grow, they're ready to take over the neighborhood on Halloween :-) We have one in a Ghost Pot.
Richard, I love Mums. Since we don't get fall color with our leaves we have to depend upon our mums (LOL).
LOU: I never knew that about Florida.
JOHN: They do tend to take over pretty quickly.
MARCHEL: They don't last too long around here. I hope you can enjoy them a bit longer.
Richard! There you are! When I was young I use to hate mums.... but as I grew older I learned to appreciate them.... if you look close you will see all of their beauty....I probably hated them when I was younger because boys never gave me flowers as a teenager. Not everybody was a beautyqueen.
Ahhhh mums! Those beautiful harbingers of doom (winter)! They sure are pretty but when they are in bloom, I know cold weather is soon to follow!
SUSSIE: I'm finding that a little hard to believe that you weren't showered with flowers as a teen. What was that, about five years ago?
SUSAN: Come on. I thought Italianos from Philly were tougher than that.
Clever use of mums, Rich!
