2008 has certainly been a challenging year in many ways. Of course, there were the normal ups and downs, successes and failures, just like any other year. I think that what made 2008 different was that the highs weren't that high and the lows were lower than they should have been. I will not be disappointed to see 2008 end tonight.
Like so many of us, I'm looking forward to 2009, and a new beginning. Fresh, new resolutions to start the new year off right. This year I only have two:
- My weight will get down to the year divided by 10.
- Just do the right thing.
By the way, the first one has been one of my resolutions for a number of years. If it was 2350 I would be golden :) It's that darn power of 10 thing. The second one pretty much just says it all. I can't think of any instance that number two doesn't apply.

To all my Active Rain friends, God Bless, be safe and be prosperous!

You are a funny and wise man Richard. God bless always.
I'm with you Rich. The highs weren't as high as they could have been but those damn lows were all time lows! I, too, am very glad to see the end of this day and the start of something better. Don't worry about the power of 10. Pick up the book The Power of One! It's a great novel... it'll take your mind off your diet!! We love you exactly as you are! Happy New Year, may 2009 be the year you exceed all of your expectations!
Richard.... 2008 was challenging? sorry, just trying to be funny. To a great 2009.... Happy New Year...
