I walked around the 2009 Washington DC Auto Show for a while today. Even in a tough economy they still have to get out a press the flesh so to speak with the new offerings.
The new cars look great of course. Price tags have crept up along with the number of features being offered. One of the things that struck me about the new cars was that for the most part, they're boring and pretty much all look the same.
I was contemplating leaving until I ran across a local exhibit of Classic cars that were for sale on the showroom floor.
The cars weren't built as good as they are today. They didn't last as long. But they had a class that's missing in most of today's offerings.
My favorite was the '58 Corvette Convertible offered on sale at the show for a mere $58K.

I love the cars shows, great photography...looks like a green "Duster" ...the last photo.
Richard - wow, those are some sweet "oldies - but -goodies" cars. ~Rita
Hey Richard,
That's a sweet Vette! Too bad I've got two sons in college. :)
Rich,
Brings back memories. I had forgotten that speedometers used to go that high. :)

Those are some beautiful classic cars...you're right, they don't make them like that anymore.
You have some great photos. Contgrats and thanks for posting.

MORNING RICHARD! Now this is more my taste! As much as I like the new cars - there is still nothing like driving around in an old, classic fun car (we have a couple really old trucks and a Model T) -- always hoping it starts, driving in second gear because the clutch doesn't shift into 3rd, no AC - it's always an adventure and fun! Nice photos - and I did love the photos of the new cars as well! Gabrielle
I am with you on the corvette! 58K seems like a great price.
I have a client/car guy who says there are steals out there right now!
